Bienvenido a Miami

After skyping with my in-laws last night, I realized I've been a big slacker in blogging and still haven't caught up with events from last year. So here goes...three months ago, Brad and I were able to go to Miami for IFT's (the company Brad works for) 25 year anniversary. Minus the tropical storm that blew in the whole weekend we were there, we had a great time!! There are two offices (one in Utah and one in New Jersey) and the workers spend a lot of time on the phone with each other but had never seen each other before. Brad said it was nice to put a name with a face. We spent a lot of time eating {always nice :)}, shopping, and getting in as much sun as possible (Mother Nature made that a bit difficult). We did have a morning of sunshine where we rented a huge catamaran and went sailing through the canals of Miami and a little bit into the ocean. We ended up at a huge sandbar in the middle of the ocean (we could see the beach about a mile away) where we got out and swam and played volleyball...IN THE MIDDLE OF THE OCEAN!! It was so much fun.
You might recognize this house from the Adamms Family movie. It's in one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in Miami and the woman who owned it gave it to her 5 cats when she died. One of her sons sued the cats to try to get the house...and lost. Ridiculous. Who leaves a house to cats?

Right as we were finishing up playing volleyball, a huge wall of clouds hit and it started raining hard! Fortunately, there was enough room under a small roof for all of us to stand so we didn't get too drenched. Minus my very white legs and the rain the rest of the trip, we had a great trip! It was hard coming back to reality...

I LOVED Miami when we were there last month! I've heard mixed things about (more negative than positive, probably), and I absolutely loved it.
