Can anyone else believe that it is already the 13th of January?? We're already half way through the first month and I already feel behind, not good. But we are definitely looking forward to what this year has in store.
We had a wonderful trip out to Maine to celebrate Christmas and the New Year [although Brad and I were both in bed by 11 pm New Years Eve...getting old? No, just had to get up for an early morning flight to Boston] with Brad's family. We arrived just in time for a big family lunch with all of Brad's brothers, cousins, uncles, aunt, Grammy, and Jim. It was funny to sit at the big table and look around and see mostly boys! Of the 20 or so people there, there were only 5 girls [including me] and they were all married or dating Dalton's. #boysdominate After lunch, we all headed over to a bowling alley and had quite the competition between three different teams.
The following day was the Christmas program at church that the youth were in charge of. Andrew, Brad's little brother, enlisted the Dalton family to sing a song...hahaha. Brad and I sang a duet for part of it...and if you know Brad and I, we don't sing. Fortunately it was only about 12 words but seriously, we don't sing. People said it sounded good, hopefully they are being honest and not just being nice :)

The rest of the trip was filled with games, movies, outings, sledding, snow, skiing, friends, eating, and sitting by the fire. Very cozy.

Towards the end of the trip, the Island got hit with a massive snowstorm, so big that church was cancelled.
Then, like I said above, New Years Eve we went to bed early to catch our early flight to Boston so no fun festivities this year...hopefully next year. So on the first day of 2013 we started our day out in this:
A tiny, 8-seater Cesna. Quite the ride. But we did get to see the first sunrise of the New Year as far east in the continuous US. Beautiful.
We had about a 4 hour layover in Boston before we needed to catch our
flight to Salt Lake so we checked our bags into our next flight and were
able to meet up with my cousin, Angela, for breakfast at a fun little
restaurant. It was so wonderful to spend some time with her. She is so
inspirational and fun to listen/talk to.
After walking our breakfast off, we headed back to the airport for the final stretch of the trip. What a wonderful time of year to spend with Brad's family. It went way to quickly but I'm glad for the wonderful new memories we have.
