11 Months

Gah!!  People, we are ONE month away from having a ONE year old.  I'm still in shock, this year has gone by soooooo quickly.  So here's what our little 11 month old is now up to.

Gets into EVERYTHING!!
Smacks his lips together when he wants something you're eating.
Puts his head on our shoulder when he's tired.
Acts shy around people [burying face in our necks].

Mauls Gus...fortunately, Gus is patient and hasn't hurt Will.

Favorite toy of choice.

Trying a lemon for the first time.

Becoming Mr. Independent [wants to feed himself/turn the pages in books/do his own thing--gets very frustrated when he doesn't get to].
Eating/gumming more solids/real human food.
Added 1 more tooth.  Total teeth count = 7.

This boy LOVES being in just his diaper.  He tries to escape when we're trying to get him dressed when all he has on is a diaper.  Silly boy. 

Likes to take toys from the living room to the kitchen that are "loud" or "roll" so that he can drop them/roll them around the kitchen.  Loves to drop things from his high chair [it hasn't turned into a game yet] because he likes to hear the sound when they land.
Learned to grind his teeth -- fortunately, that only lasted for about 2 days.  

First Mother's Day

Helping Uncle Bob [aka Soren] mow the yard.

Can pull himself up to stand on furniture and support himself for a few minutes.

With his new-found mobility, naps and bedtime became a nightmare!!  He'd crawl around his crib, pull himself up [which would freak us out because we hadn't lowered his mattress yet, but no worries though, we did finally!], and would take for-ev-er to fall asleep.  It was so much easier just to lay down with him in our bed because he'd fall asleep very quickly but was a bit time-consuming.  Fortunately, in the past week our nap routine has returned to normal and he soothes himself to sleep in his crib.  Happy Mom and Dad :)

Diaper changes have also become a disaster!!  I've learned that if we sing a song, that will distract him for about 30 seconds max.  Anything past that is a wiggle-fest.  Sometimes I have to pin him down with my legs which makes me feel like a great parent...
Understanding cause and effect more [the lightswitch turns the light on/if I push this button a song will come on/etc]. 

Fell asleep doing the splits [I didn't realize until after I took the picture, but his other leg hidden under the blanket was going the exact opposite direction].

Bath time = heaven

Likes to sleep on his stomach now.

Loves anything with wheels, very fascinated by their movement!

Can suck from a straw/applesauce bag.

This last month, we have definitely loved seeing him learn every day.  He's such a smart little boy and fills our lives with such sweet joy!
