17 Months

Momma's been a slacker...but we're catching up again.  Seventeen months have just flown by...how is Baby D. so old??  The life of Will the Thrill is as follows...

Fascinated with magnets...like, HAS to play with them all the time.

Imitates our sounds when we cough or laugh.

Loves bringing us things that he finds [inside and outside].

First bubble bath :)

Cleaning out Grandma Snider's cupboards.

First parade -- Cedar City's Sheep Herding Parade

LOVES to stomp his feet "stomp stomp stomp."

Fascinated with anything in the sky [birds, planes, etc.] -- points and oohs.

First time trick-or-treating [he wasn't sure about his costume, especially his hat, and was a little nervous initially at doors; but once he realized the got candy and learned what a doorbell was, the night was a breeze :)].

Becoming SUPER independent -- for example, he won't stay in the shopping cart anymore but has to get out and push the shopping cart.
Has all of his teeth! [Minus the 2-year molars but we have a few more months before we have to deal with those, right??]

 Musical Will

Double whammy: croup and a double ear infection [first ear infection ever] at the same time [thus, was rewarded with chicken nuggets, but he'd rather eat the carton than the box (see above)].

Waves his arm when a song starts [pretending to conduct the music].

Working on throwing diapers/food he throws on the ground in the trash can [really likes it, see about previous "independent" note].

Whoa, bed head!!

Playing with our neighbor, Ryan, at the mall playground on a cold night.

Favorite "toy" of the day...FLOSS.  He wouldn't let it go.

Understands quite a bit, but these things I know for sure: "your turn/my turn", "slam dunk", "go get ____" followed with pointing cues.

Imitates these words consistently: "cat", "Gus", "Dada", "Mama", "baba", and "ball".

Loves to high 5, pound, blow kisses, and pound heads.

I've been a little worried about his expressive language [he understands a TON but hardly says any words consistently, although his nonverbal communication is VERY effective].  So all the SLP stops are coming out this next month, let's go little boy :)
