Maine Cont.

As from most of the previous pictures, we spent the majority of our time here...

 enjoying the beautiful water and weather...

But we also filled our time with other outings.  One night, we went to the Harbor Club where all of Brad's siblings work and played tennis and went swimming in the salt-water pool.  It was fun to play "Categories" (remember, Kendal and Lauren??  Epic "Categories" way back when...) and go down the amazingly steep slide (no pictures of the slide, sorry!). 

One of the things Brad wanted to do while he was home was go golfing with his family.  I like to tag along, take a few swings every few holes, but mostly take pictures and drive the golf cart.  Here are the pros:

And we were SOOOOOOOOO glad that cousin Angela made her way from Boston up to Maine to spend the weekend with us.  It was great having her up there and she was such a great sport.  It was her first time to go skiing, tubing, knee boarding, and ultimate pirating (she was a pro and got the loot!).  She would NOT.GIVE.UP.  She just kept trying and trying until she was able to do everything!!

The same day, Sunshine and her fun kids (probably gonna spell their names wrong...Koa, Kai, Beau, and Lola [those are their nicknames, I don't know their real names]) came and joined us at the lake too.  Koa and Kai are twins and had so much energy!  They were able to get up on the kneeboard and were DYING to play pirates.  It was so fun to watch them.  Lola, Beau, and I kept it real on the beach playing on the tubes...

  The following day, we made our way from camp to the island to spend the rest of our time there.  The entire week, we'd been having fantastic sunny weather, but our last day was foggy and misty.  But we still had fun!  First, we went and hiked the Beehive and took some Dalton family pictures.  Thanks to Angela for being our amazing photographer.

At the top of the hike, there was a pond we stopped and put our feet in.  It was beautiful and the lake was full of life!  We saw tadpoles halfway turned into frogs, lots of fish, and even a beaver swimming around.

Afterwards, we went down to Sand Beach right next to the Beehive where Brad and Logan lost a bet and had to jump into the cold cold ocean.

Then we made our way to Cadillac Mountain.  This is the first place the sun hits in the United States and usually has amazing views of the ocean and other islands but because of the fog we couldn't see much.  Still fun.  Naturally, we had to attempt a jumping picture...here's what we got!

Cousins

From there, we went back to the Dalton homestead and headed to Echo Lake right behind their house and went sailing (again, no pictures).  It was Angela's first time to sail and she was a pro (naturally!).  We then ended our night at Reel Pizza.  It's a movie theater in downtown Bar Harbor where you can sit on couches or movie seats with tables in front and order pizzas and watch your movie.  It was fun to finally experience the "Reel" experience (even though the intermission during the new Bourne movie threw me off a little bit...hadn't experience an intermission during a movie since I lived in Holland, wasn't expecting it...).

I know I say this after every vacation, but we had SUCH A GREAT TIME!  It was very sad to say goodbye (but we're planning to make it back for Christmas so that made saying goodbye a little easier) and leave.  After sacrament meeting at church, Angela, Anne, Brad, and I jumped in Logan's car and drove down to Boston.  We said goodbye to Brad at the airport, goodbye to Angela at her cute apartment, and then Anne and I began our adventure across the United States (stay tuned!).

There's nothing that we enjoy more than being with family.  I loved coming in at night and watching the Olympics together, playing games, going on runs around the lake (and basically up Schoodic Mountain, thanks Greg!), picking blueberries, riding the ATVs, boating, beaching, and everything else that comes along with being in Maine.  Can't wait for next time!
